Showdown With the Rangers and Devils Tonight

Tonight is the night when the Rangers will take on the New Jersey Devils for the third time this season. I always look forward to the Rangers/Devils rivalry. They always end up becoming really good and exciting games. Last time I wrote about the Rangers and Devils, the Rangers had won with a score of 5-2. The game was at New Jersey, and the Rangers dominated. Tonight's game is in New Jersey again, or should I say the Rangers' alternate home. There's probably going to be a big presence from the Rangers fans as is usually the case. I'm going to predict another win for the Rangers, as for the score, who knows. The Rangers were having trouble scoring in the past few games, and they were giving up more goals than they used to. Last game was an exception as they snapped a two game losing streak against the Atlanta Thrashers in OT. I'm looking forward to tonight's good ol' rivalry.

Photos of Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds

I happened to stumble upon two new photos of Quentin Tarantino's new film Inglourious Basterds, courtesy of Filmz.ru.  I happen to be a fan of Tarantino, and I can't be any happier to see these photos.  I've been waiting quite some time for this film, ever since it was first mentioned during the release of Kill Bill.  These two photos actually look pretty good.  I like where the quality of the film is going as far as color and cinematography is concerned.  Of course, you can't tell a whole lot about cinematography from just two pictures, but from what can be seen, things are looking good for the whole of the film.  It's going to be very interesting to see Tarantino do a film about World War II.  We've been so used to seeing some sort of pop culture thrown into his films, and one wonders if anything will be thrown in this time with Inglourious Basterds.  The cast is very interesting as well, as is the case with any Tarantino flick.  I know I will be anxiously looking forward to this release.

Dragonball Evolution... Why?

I am following my "why" rant of Steven Spielberg's take on Oldboy with another film that just looks horrible and should have never been touched.  That film, Dragonball Evolution.  This is based on the Dragonball Japanese manga/anime series from several years back.  I have been a fan of Dragonball and Dragonball Z while I was growing up.  I still like it, but I haven't watched the anime in a while.  I just watched the trailer for the live action film, and it just looks horrendous.  When I first heard about them making a live action film of Dragonball, I knew things were looking very dim.  I questioned myself "why."  Now, after watching the trailer, I think I lost all hope in the film.  I probably will end up watching it anyway and hope for a great surprise, but I really don't know if that would happen.  Of course, I can't judge a film without actually viewing it, so I will have to wait patiently for the release.  Maybe I'll come back with a different opinion all together.

Rangers to Try to Get Back to their Winning Days

It's been a while since I last wrote about the NY Rangers.  A lot has happened since, but they are not in their greatest situation coming into tonight's game against the Atlanta Thrashers.  With two bad back to back losses, they have to just focus on just the simple game of hockey.  I'm sure they can handle tonight's game and get the win.  At least that's what I'm hoping.  They have been in a two game losing streak twice before this season, and I would hate to see it become a three game losing streak if they don't win tonight's game.  I still think that the Rangers could make it all the way, but it's scary to see the San Jose Sharks with 46 points and only 3 losses, the best in the league.  They're even three games back from the Rangers.  The season is still young and a lot can happen down the road, but the most important thing right now is for the Rangers to get back on track and snap their two game losing streak with a win tonight.

The Dark Knight Finally On DVD

Well, the most anticipated film of the year is finally getting released on DVD today, and I couldn't be happier.  It's sad to say that I couldn't get a copy of it yet, but I will very soon.  This is probably the best film I have seen this year with top notch acting and directing.

I love Christopher Nolan's work.  From Following to this film The Dark Knight, I have always been a fan of his work.  When I heard that he was going to take the role of directing Batman Begins, I knew that this film was going to go in the right direction.  The last great Batman film that I loved was Tim Burton's, but I have to say that Christopher Nolan really surpassed him with his take on Batman.

It is going to be very interesting to see the sales chart for The Dark Knight because it did very very well with the box office.  I've also heard about The Dark Knight getting re-released in theaters for the Academy Awards.  I would love to see some Oscars handed out to anyone involved with this film, especially Christopher Nolan and/or Heath Ledger for his outstanding acting of his career that ended up killing him.

In the meantime, I will try to get my grimy hands on the DVD as soon as possible.
